The tailor-made nature of the IVII Program allows you to go when you like, for as long as you like (minimum 1 month and maximum 6 months), and to contribute in ways that make sense to you. The IVII Program is a rare opportunity to live in the ancient city of Varanasi and experience how empowerment and literacy programming can, and does, change lives for the better.
With wide-ranging internships, this volunteer internship opportunity provides students worldwide with flexible and personal work placements at our Varanasi, India office. All internships provide a full immersion into program and policies, marketing and fundraising, and “hands on” learning on international development and global citizenship.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Applicants must reside in a country outside of India, be interested in international development, committed to gender equality and devoted to global citizenship. There are no education requirements, though a B.A. is preferred. Click here for sample internships.The internship is open to persons over 18.
WHEN CAN I COME?
Volunteer internship placements are available for a minimum of one month with a maximum of a 6 month term. The timing is according to your preference, though we suggest coming between the months of September to April when Varanasi is not extremely hot.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Volunteers are expected to raise funds to cover the cost of the program. SF will issue tax receipts for donations collected for your volunteer internship. SF will further assist your application to receive any eligible subsidy that may be available. SF is willing to offer you fundraising best practices and tips to help you raise the necessary funds. HOW DO I APPLY?
Interested applicants should complete the Application Form and submit it online or mail it in to B 2/1, Ganga Mahal Kothi, Bhadaini, Varanasi - 221 001, Uttar Pradesh, India. If your application is approved, you will be contacted for an interview. If you are accepted into the program, we’ll arrange a time to discuss your skills and what you’re looking to get out of this experience. We’ll ask you to sign an agreement and together we will develop a work plan and start planning your internship in India!
